Normally kids eat free on Tuesday nights at Bob Evans (with the purchase of an adult entree) but for the month of July they eat free every weekday from 2 pm to close, one kids meal for free with each adult entree.  Right now also with Bob Evans, they have a 3 course meal deal, with an appetizer, entree and a dessert for $9.99.  And the entrees you have to choose from are very good!

Free Apple Computer Camp for kids ages 8-12

Apple Stores across the nation are offering kids ages 8-12 an opportunity to make movie magic!  Go HERE and search for an Apple store near you offering the camp and you can sign your child up for a 3 day, 1.5 day session.  The camp teaches kids how to shoot their own footage, create an original song in GarageBand on iPad, and put it all together on iMovie on a Mac. The campers will then debut their masterpieces at the Apple Camp Film Festival the last day of camp.  This is a great way for the kids to hone their computer skills and have fun doing it!  There is also no pressure for you to buy any Apple products if you don't already own some.

Day one of camp:

• Get an introduction to the basics of moviemaking, including creating a storyboard.
• Create an original soundtrack by making a song in GarageBand on an iPad.
• Prepare for shooting footage outside the store overnight or inside the store at the end of the workshop.

On day one, Apple Camp also includes an optional, one-hour Parents Workshop that will focus on using and setting parental controls on the Mac. Registration is not required.

Day two of camp:

• Get an introduction to iMovie — simple-to-use moviemaking software.
• Use a Mac to import and edit collected movie footage, incorporating stills and music.
• Create a film.

With guidance from Apple Camp Counselors, kids will use iMovie — part of the iLife suite of creativity applications built into every Mac — to create, edit, and produce their films. 

Day three of camp:

• Film Festival

Kids will have the opportunity to showcase their movies to invited parents, relatives, and friends. Participation in the festival is optional. Campers can take their completed movies home at the end of day two, if they prefer.

Target Summer Toy Clearance: eyes open for this Thursday to go 70% off

Target has two really big toy clearances in a year.  One results in 70% off lots of different toys in February (clearing out of extra Christmas stock) and 70% off in July (to make room for new stock in time for Christmas).  I am guessing (and past Target history) shows this Thursday should be the day it goes (most, maybe not all) 70% off.  So you might want to check them out this Thursday (Thursday's are the mark down day for toys) to see what you can score (great way to save $ for birthday presents and Christmas presents).
